ALL THINGS DAMARCUS MITCHELL
Journalist. Thinker. Questioner.

ABOUT
I was born and raised in Carrollton, Georgia. Growing up in a smaller city just outside of Atlanta I always knew that I wanted to venture out and see more. This greatly impacted my decision to relocate 500 miles west and attend Louisiana State University. I had never stepped foot in the state of Louisiana until I toured LSU's campus during the Spring of my senior year in High School, so it's safe to say I had to start from scratch socially. This wasn't a problem though as the LSU community was warm and embracing. I wasn't much of an LSU sports fan but that quickly changed after experiencing the atmosphere of Tiger Stadium. During my time here at LSU I was excepted into the Manship School of Journalism, and through these courses my dream of becoming a sports reporter were materializing. Journalism provides the opportunity to always keep readers interested with engaging writings and captivating narratives. As a professional storyteller with a reputation for honesty, fairness and a unique perspective on the events that transform our world, I strive to captivate, inform, and entertain with my published works. My passion is sports and explaining to the audience not just how but why the results of the game played out the way they did. The difference between how and why is that how is a macro view of all the signature moments of a game. While why is a more in-depth look into specific matchups, coverages and nuances taking place during a game.
